This course is designed for individuals with diverse academic or work experience backgrounds. It provides opportunities to gain industry-aligned skills in leadership, project management, and sustainable event organisation.
Key course content includes:
Leadership and relationships: explore leadership, stakeholder management and EDI.
Event creation and management: cover experience design, project management and risk management, following the PMBOK framework.
Sustainability and innovation: examine sustainability, innovation and emerging trends, such as using AI in event management, all of which are aligned with relevant global standards.
Start dates:
An honours degree 2:2 or above (or international equivalent) in any discipline, or demonstrable and appropriate work experience together with relevant professional qualifications.

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
Critically evaluate and analyse the key political, economic, social-cultural, technological, ethical and environmental factors that shape the event industry, globally.
Critically evaluate and apply business and management concepts, models and theories to a range of event contexts and scenarios.
Critically analyse global contemporary issues and themes, and their impact on the event sector/industry, and adopt strategies to overcome challenges.
Apply the principles of responsible management and leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation, and sustainable development in the design and delivery of products, services and experiences that are ‘people-centric’, and respectful of communities and stakeholder groups.
Critically evaluate and apply relevant skills relating to professionalism, communication, teamwork, leadership, project planning, creativity, internationalisation, and independent learning.
Critically reflect upon professional competence and preparedness for employment within the events industry and identify areas for development and continuous professional development.
Work independently to solve complex problems and undertake research, reaching informed decisions and critically reviewing them by drawing on the latest developments in disciplinary knowledge.
Critically evaluate the principles for leading and developing people and equality, diversity and inclusion at a strategic level.
