Masters Degree Description

The traditional military threats which defined global security matters for the best part of the 20th century have been quickly replaced by new and re-emerging security challenges. The Masters in Global Security offers you the opportunity to examine conventional and unconventional security threats in the contemporary environment.

Entry Requirements

2.1 Hons (or non-UK equivalent) in modern studies, politics, history, area studies (i.e. American studies, central and east European studies, European studies, Latin American studies, Arabic studies etc.), public policy, economics, sociology, geography, public health etc.

We may sometimes accept degrees at 2.2 Hons or non-UK equivalent.

Work experience will also be considered in lieu of lower grades or unrelated subjects.

This interdisciplinary programme will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop a career across a wide range of industries and sectors.

By the end of the programme, you will be poised to begin a successful career in government and non-governmental organisations, businesses, and international/transnational agencies. Past students have gone on to work for governmental organisations such as:
