Course Description

The flexible Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from Robert Gordon University enables you to train further to practice as a solicitor in Scotland and is a PEAT 1 accredited course by the Law Society of Scotland. Throughout the vocational course, you will learn the ethical rules, practical knowledge and professional skills required of solicitors in Scotland.

Entry Requirements

What is needed for Professional Legal Practice?

To gain admission to the Diploma course entrants require to obtain passes in certain “core” subjects (prerequisite professional subjects) in their LLB Degree from a Scottish university.

Alternatively you will have undertaken a pre-Diploma training contract and completed the Law Society of Scotland’s professional qualifying examinations.

Those wishing to apply for a place on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice:

  • Will graduate LLB from Robert Gordon University this year, or earlier; OR
  • Are engaged on a pre-Diploma Training Contract
  • Will graduate LLB from another Scottish University this year or earlier
