Part think tank, part lab, part farm

Since it was founded in 1901, Harper has been designed to meet the growing demands on our planet and its resources – from our 494-hectare Future Farm to our new £8million Veterinary Education Centre!

In our laboratories we have everything from molecular diagnostic facilities to food processing suites, so you’ll be well equipped to experiment. Our innovation hub is home to crop-spraying drones, life-saving technology – we have even run a Hands Free Farm, sowing, tending and harvesting crops autonomously. We don’t just dream up new ideas and innovations here – we build them.

Our research also brings together staff and students to tackle the biggest problems our world faces. You don’t just learn about industry here, you’re part of it.

A degree that suits you

Our degrees are moulded to support their industries – but it’s important they also support you too, and your future career. Our postgraduate routes include PgC, PgD, MSc, MEng, MProf and MRes qualifications, so there’s plenty to choose from at varying levels.

We offer both full and part-time routes to suit your needs and commitments and deliver ‘block-based study’, which allows our learning to be more immersive whilst giving you defined free-time in-between modules. The majority of our courses are taught face-to-face with additional study being supported by the ‘Learning Hub’ – our interactive virtual learning environment which has plenty of help and guides.

If that wasn’t enough to tempt you, our academic supervisors, tutors and lectures are thought-leaders practitioners in their industries – many of them still working in their chosen field – and internationally recognised researchers.

What our students say

“I chose this course because it was an exciting opportunity. As the only course of its kind in the UK and a great university at the forefront of agriculture, I knew this was the right choice for me…. It is an intense learning curve and a real challenge but life is all about challenges! Upon graduation I hope to have the full skill set to utilise data within the agriculture sector to provide solutions that will pave the way to global food security – and it’ll be all thanks to Harper.” George Wager, Graduate, MSc Data Science

I was excited to get started because for Applied Nematology, the researchers here at Harper Adams are world leaders…you cannot talk about Nematology without talking about Harper’s postgraduate team. Doing a PhD, it’s not about how smart you are, it’s about liking the work that you are doing and wanting to acquire deeper knowledge.” Vongai Chekanai, PhD Research Applied Nematology
