Study MSc Acoustics and Music Technology at the University of Edinburgh Reid School of Music. Our postgraduate degree programme focuses on the science of musical sound, and will prepare you for a career in the field of music and audio technology.
These entry requirements are for the 2026-27 academic year and requirements for future academic years may differ. Entry requirements for the 2027-28 academic year will be published on 1 Oct 2026.
A UK 2:1 honours degree, or its international equivalent, in a relevant subject.
Relevant subjects include physics, mathematics, computer science or engineering. Music or music technology degrees will be considerd where a significant component of mathematics and/or physics is demonstrable.
We also welcome applicants who do not meet academic entry requirements but demonstrate relevant professional experience.
