Organic chemistry underpins areas of the industry where contemporary research demands advanced training beyond an honours degree level. This course is therefore designed for both Chemistry graduates and those with degrees in combined sciences that include a chemistry subject who seek to pursue a career in the industry. This course will enhance the student’s understanding of the subject of Chemistry, provide realistic training in experimental chemistry, and perfect skills in underlying aspects of organic chemistry, such as organic reaction mechanisms, spectroscopy, and synthetic strategy.
Open to students with a good first degree (min 2.1 or equivalent) in Chemistry or a related science component. We welcome applications from students whose first language is not English. To ensure such students benefit from postgraduate study, we require evidence of proficiency in English. Our usual entry requirements are as follows:
