MA PG Dip Counselling

    MA 2 years mixed mode, PG Dip 1 year full-time

Course Description

There are 2 components: the PgDip offers training to equip candidates to practise professionally in the role of counsellor; students can then opt to progress to the full research-based MA in Counselling; the central theoretical model for the course is the person-centred approach developed by Carl Rogers; candidates also undertake a placement in the University Counselling Service and thus have the opportunity of theoretical, clinical and experiential study; the course explores the implications of person centred theory and practice for spiritual understanding and development.

Entry Requirements

Degree normally required; applicants with other professional qualifications or who can demonstrate appropriate academic skills considered; international students should be able to provide evidence of proficiency in English: IELTS 7 (with a minimum of 6.5 in all components) or equivalent; where a visa for study is required, UK Borders Agency minimum English requirements must be met.
