The MA in Educational Leadership has been designed to provide leaders and aspiring leaders in schools, colleges and other educational contexts with an opportunity to achieve a Masters-level qualification which recognises professional development undertaken through professional practice or programmes.
Students enter the programme by making a claim for previous learning through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) process – for example holders of National College of Teaching and Leadership awards – and then undertake modules for the remainder of their programme taking into account their setting and individual needs.
The MA in Educational Leadership recognises previously undertaken professional development. It is suitable for anyone leading or aspiring to leadership in a School, College, Local Authority, Academy, Free School or
The programme also presents an opportunity of taking modules which will lead to an MA in Educational Leadership (Faith Schools).
Applicants will normally work in an educational environment, e.g. school, college, academy, local authority, free school or other educational setting. The minimum entry requirement is usually a first degree plus relevant experience. Candidates without these qualifications will be invited to attend an interview to ensure their suitability for the course
The MA in Educational Leadership is open to both graduates and non-graduates with professional experience although applicants will normally be graduates.

Learning Activities:
Learning activities will include delivery methods such as lectures, group discussions and learning conversations through the use of a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and action research.

In addition, you can undertake an optional Negotiated Study module of either 20 or 40 credits.
Those wishing to exit with the full MA Award must also take the Dissertation module of 60 credits.
