The MSc International Development with Philanthropy equips you with a critical and up to date understanding of key contemporary trends and patterns in international development and philanthropy, including the roles and impacts of philanthropic organisations and the ways their policies and practices shape the ways individuals and communities experience and challenge poverty and marginalisation.
Designed to enhance your employability in international development and philanthropic practice and research, the course includes opportunities for skills enhancement and knowledge development. You will develop a critical appreciation of the changing dynamics of relationships between civil society actors, activity and institutions, ranging from philanthropic foundations, to international volunteers, and international development.
Standard entry is normally with a 2:2 honours degree or international equivalent, or relevant equivalent experience.
International applicants are required to have one of the following English language qualifications – A British Council International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5 (or above), Pearson Academic score of 62 (or above) or a Test of English as a Foreign Language – Internet Based Test) (TOEFL IBT) score of 89 (or above).
