Study marketing in practice

The BPP MSc International Marketing is a one-year full-time programme geared to the reality of working in today’s marketing environment. You’ll qualify with the knowledge, confidence and practical ability to confront modern marketing challenges in the workplace.

You will critically evaluate key international marketing strategies and practices, and learn how these help to shape organisations and markets within the evolving global business environment. Utilising theory, practice and cutting-edge approaches, including e-marketing and social networking, you will develop skills that will enhance your employability as both a marketer and a manager in any dynamic organisation. To support this the programme provides a choice of up to eight ‘elective’ subjects, reflecting the current diversity in contemporary marketing practice.

Our tiered award system means that even if you choose not to complete all stages you are still awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in International Marketing upon successful completion of Stage 1, or a Postgraduate Diploma in International Marketing after successfully completing Stage 2.

Teaching and tutors

Our Masters in International Marketing focuses on practical teaching underpinned by relevant academic theory. So you will be taught by experienced marketing practitioners, as well as guest speakers who will share the latest marketing insights.

We have designed the programme so time is split evenly between lectures and small group sessions where you will have ample opportunity to discuss lectures in more detail. You will also get the opportunity to take part in other activities – for example, a simulating business exercise which puts theories from the programme into practice.

Study programme

If you study this programme full-time, you will attend classes for 12 hours per week and will carry out additional study and preparation when you are not in class. Start dates are available in January, May and September each year.

The programme is divided into three stages:

  • Stage One – Four core modules give you an overview of marketing theory and practice, consumer behaviour and competitive intelligence for the marketer.
  • Stage Two – Delve deeper into advanced marketing strategy and covers areas important to contemporary marketers including Creativity and Innovation, Marketing Communications and Finance.
  • Stage Three – Here you can specialise by choosing two elective modules in subject areas such as advertising management, digital marketing and public relations. There’s also an International Marketing Consultancy Project.
