Study Details: MA 1 year full-time
The course is intended for practising mathematics teachers, mathematics teacher educators and other educational professionals; students have an introduction to the study of mathematics education as an academic discipline and are introduced to methods for research in education; the opportunity to pursue individual specialist topics within mathematics education is actively encouraged and supported; the course consists of 2 taught modules and a dissertation.
A good first degree (minimum 2.1) with a strong mathematical component, or equivalent; applications from qualified teachers or from those with relevant experience and/or professional qualification are considered; all applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (with minimum of 6.0 in all skills), or equivalent; where a visa for study is required, UK Borders Agency minimum English requirements must be met.
