PGDip 1 year part time online

Course Description

Healthcare professionals are increasingly required to have formally recognised teaching qualifications. Delivered with our partner Diploma MSc, the postgraduate diploma is aimed at healthcare professionals involved in any form of medical teaching. This online part time distance learning diploma is specially developed for busy healthcare professionals such as Doctors, GPs, healthcare professionals and those with related undergraduate degrees such as pharmacists.

The Medical Education course will develop a critical knowledge and understanding, and application of medical education. On completion, graduates will be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and understanding of specific issues at the forefront of theory and practice in medical education; be able to critically evaluate medical education theories and principles to inform educational practice; demonstrate awareness of advanced knowledge in educational methods and practice, and display a critical understanding of the intricacies of adult pedagogy.

Entry Requirements

To secure your place on the course, applicants will typically hold a first degree or equivalent (including international qualifications) in a relevant professional healthcare field, such as a medical or nursing degree. Registered healthcare professionals without these recognised qualifications will be considered on an individual basis and a wide range of prior experience may be taken into account.

In some cases, applicants may be asked to submit a piece of work for assessment in order to confirm that they are able to work comfortably at postgraduate level, and demonstrate the requisite clinical and professional knowledge.
