The degree is based on the candidate’s own original research which is carried out under the direction of one or more supervisors; computing and a range of other facilities are provided for research students; the research environment is also enhanced by regular research seminars, often with invited national or international speakers, as well as interdisciplinary workshops and conferences.
An upper 2nd Honours degree or a Master’s degree in a professional field or a related health and social care area, or equivalent; all applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 7.5 (with a minimum of 7.0 in each individual component), or equivalent; where a visa for study is required, UK Borders Agency minimum English requirements must be met.
