This non-modular programme prepares students to teach in the 5-11 age band with a specialism in Key Stage 2 (years 3, 4, 5 and 6); students follow programmes in teaching core and non-core subjects, relevant to their age ranges; successful completion leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) subject to satisfactory performance in skills tests and 60 credits at Master’s level; 19 weeks are spent in school placements; placements are spread across all 3 terms with final teaching placements in the spring and summer terms.
Lower 2nd Honours degree or equivalent; GCSE grade C or equivalent in English language, mathematics and science subject; applicants must have gained recent experience, in school, with children of the age range that they wish to teach.
