Entry Requirements

What you need to apply for this course

  • A second class degree or above or equivalent and/or demonstrable enthusiasm for publishing.

When to apply

The closing date for applicants from the EU who are seeking grants from the Arts and Humanities Research Council1 (AHRC) is 1 March. This is to meet the submission deadline set by the AHRC.

We consider applications on an individual basis, on merit. We look at academic credentials alongside prior experience and evidence of commitment to the course of study.

Interviews

We invite all applicants to attend an interview day at Kingston University.

Prior learning – AP(E)L

Applicants with prior qualifications and learning may be exempt from appropriate parts of a course in accordance with the University’s policy for the assessment of prior learning and prior experiential learning. Contact the faculty office2 for further information.N

English language requirements

All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.5 overall with 7.0 in Writing. Please make sure you read our full guidance about English language requirements3, which includes details of other qualifications we’ll consider.

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements may be eligible to join our pre-sessional English language course4.

Applicants from one of the recognised majority English speaking countries (MESCs)5 do not need to meet these requirements.
