Course Description

Postgraduate study of sport and exercise science at UCLan provides the scientific backup for optimising athletic performance / monitoring, and offers a cornerstone of some health and wellness interventions. This course is targeted at students of sport and exercise sciences who wish to develop their vocational skills in a truly applied context and learn from some of the world’s leading experts in this field. Sport and exercise scientists will have a broad technical knowledge, allied to an excellent applied skills base, and an underpinning knowledge of the core disciplines of physiology and biomechanics. This innovative master’s programme allows the application of these varied principles via both a research and practitioner-based context, particularly focused on the discipline areas of physiology and biomechanics. 

Entry Requirements

2:2 Hons degree or equivalent degree associated with sport and exercise physiology and /or biomechanics.

Compulsory Modules

  • XS4418 – Advanced Skills in 3D biomechanical assessment (10 credits)
  • XS4419 – Contemporary issues in Sports Science (20 Credits) – Independent study module
