LLM Comparative Commercial Law

  • DeadlineStudy Details:

    LLM 1 year full-time, 2 years part-time, Holborn (London)

Course Description

The LLM (Comparative Commercial Law) offers you the opportunity to engage both at a conceptual and practical level, with a number of significant issues in law relating to commercial and financial activity from a comparative perspective. This programme is taught by practitioners and academics from a number of different jurisdictions. The core module of Comparative Commercial Law focuses on legal problems of practical importance from the perspectives of not only the common law and civil law systems, but also mixed systems such as China and Japan.

Today practising lawyers and those who develop and administer the law are increasingly confronted by issues demanding a comparative approach and the skills of comparative legal analysis. In addition to the core module, you are able to select three other modules in which, should you wish, you can focus in depth on Chinese Business Law, Islamic Finance or Comparative Securities Law.

Extend the horizons of your career

The LLM (Comparative Commercial Law) helps you find new career horizons. Giving you knowledge and practical insight in to the operation of other legal systems and how specific issues in commercial law and practice are addressed in other key jurisdictions around the world.

In addition to the skills and comparative knowledge that are offered in the core module, a broad choice of relevant elective modules lets you focus your career path.
