Why study English (MRes) with us?
Our Department of English academics are active researchers in the fields of both creative writing practice (including novels, flash fiction, and memoir), as well as literature, language, theory, and current research methodologies. We also recognise the importance of pastoral support, and offer a supportive environment in which to learn and study.
The MRes in English is a cross-discipline course designed to allow you the chance to specialise in literature and/or language in an area in which our academics have expertise – including in a wide range of literary specialisms and fields of English language – which will facilitate your exploration of your own interests in English study.
Please consider individual profiles in the staff section and make an informal enquiry with a tutor prior to applying.
A minimum of an upper second class degree in English Literature, English Language or English Literature and Language is a requirement.
