Description

Promoting a values-driven and authentic leadership approach, this programme develops experienced doctors and new consultants as leaders and effective change agents. You will gain the skills, knowledge and self-awareness required to improve the quality of care, enhance service delivery and lead people through change in health and social care. The programme will enable you to critically reflect on your practice, consider your style of leadership, assess your decision-making skills and gain an insight into your personality, from influencing style to emotional intelligence and resilience.

Module Details:

HEA4117 Medical Leadership (20 credits)
HEA4038 Leading People Through Change (20 credits)

You will study 20 credits chosen from the following optional modules or the Faculty of Health and Social Care’s CPD portfolio (subject to agreement with the programme leader).
CPD4706 Teaching and Learning in the Medical Workplace (20 credits)
HEA4207 Developing a Business Case for Change and Innovation (20 credits)
HEA4208 Strategic Clinical Leadership (20 credits)
HEA4220 Promoting Professionalism and Ethics in Multidisciplinary Practice (20 credits)

Fees

Tuition fees for this Postgraduate Certificate are: £34 per credit for UK and EU students enrolling on the programme in academic year 2019/20, i.e. £680 per 20 credit module; with the exception of CPD4706 Teaching and Learning in the Medical Workplace and HEA4117 Medical Leadership for which the cost is £700 per module; £34 per credit for UK and EU students enrolling on the programme in academic year 2020/21 (pending confirmation of arrangements for EU students), i.e. £680 per 20 credit module, with the exception of CPD4706 Teaching and Learning in the Medical Workplace and HEA4117 Medical Leadership for which the cost is £700 per module. 60 credits are required to complete a Masters degree.

Entry Requirements

To join this programme, you must have a degree in Medicine and be registered with the General Medical Council. You must also be working in a health and social care environment.
