Study Details: 30 months (part-time and online)
The Psychology MSc has been designed to provide students without an undergraduate psychology degree with the necessary skills and understanding to take up rewarding careers in the field, by providing a comprehensive understanding of biological, developmental, cognitive and social psychology.
This online programme, accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), is designed to guide you in the construction of knowledge of the central features within the discipline of psychology, which will enable you to put principles into effect in a variety of settings including research, practice and the interface of applied research.
Students learn with classmates from around the world, gaining a rich academic experience with the opportunity to learn from different experiences, backgrounds and contexts.
This programme alone will not allow you to practice as psychologist in the United Kingdom. However, for individuals who want to pursue a career in psychology, it will provide you with the core foundational knowledge into the discipline and it’s a first step towards a career in the field. The experience and skills you gain will also be appreciated by employers in a wide range of professions outside of the field of psychology.
To achieve a full master’s degree, you will be required to complete 180 credits. This programme is also available as a postgraduate certificate (PG Cert) which amounts to 60 credits and a postgraduate diploma (PG Dip) which amounts to 120 credits. Students who complete the PG Cert and PG Dip will have the opportunity to progress to the full master’s degree.
Students that successfully complete the Postgraduate Certificate (PG Cert) can progress onto the Mental Health Psychology (PG Dip and MSc) or Organisational Business Psychology (PG Dip and MSc) programmes. Find out more about our psychology programmes by contacting our admissions team.

Applicants should possess either:
Non-psychology applicants will normally require a GCSE Grade 4 (grade C) or GCE O Level pass in Mathematics and English, or an equivalent qualification.
All applicants must provide evidence that they have an English language ability equivalent to an IELTS (academic) score of 6.5 (overall) and 7.0 (reading and writing).
If you don’t have an IELTS or equivalent certificate, you can take our free online English test to assess your proficiency. You don’t need to prove your English ability if you are a national of or have completed a qualification equivalent to a UK degree in, any of these countries.
Full tuition fee – £15,300 (2022/2023 academic year)
Full tuition fee – £16,065 (2023/2024 academic year)
A UK Scholarship of 10% is available for students residing in the United Kingdom. This scholarship is available for our intakes in the 2023/24 academic year for all full master’s awards.
An executive Scholarship of 15% is available for the full master's award for our remaining intakes in the 2023/24 academic year.
The scientific aspects of this programme provide useful tools for careers in healthcare, law enforcement, finance, IT and research. While the understanding about human behaviour and motivation and the ability to critically analyse and formulate a considered response, lends well to careers in the creative industries, legal sector, government administration and education.
The Psychology MSc consists of the following taught modules and a final dissertation project.
There is a brief break scheduled between modules to allow students to refresh themselves and reflect on what they have learned.
