Department of Security and Crime Science

University College London

After graduating [from Durham University] I worked for a business intelligence consultancy, which conducted due diligence investigations and provided country risk assessments to a range of clients.

I have always had a desire to work for the public sector and thought that this course provided an excellent opportunity to … learn new skills that might facilitate my move into the public sector. The fact that the UCL Department of Security and Crime Science is the only academic institution devoted to the study of crime science made the course both unique and attractive.

The best aspect of studying [here] is the access to leading experts in the field, many of whom are undertaking ground-breaking research. They work closely with the police and other law enforcement bodies, so know how the theories that underpin crime science can actually be applied in the field.
