Course Description

This course will develop your understanding of the concepts and principles underpinning the care of patients undergoing urology surgery as well as your ability to find, critically evaluate and apply relevant research evidence to ensure clinical effectiveness.

The knowledge and skills you develop will enhance your clinical decision making and research practice within urology enabling you to contribute to the knowledge base. You are encouraged to focus on topical issues within urology surgical practice, concentrating on aspects of practice that are relevant to your specific interests and practice.

The course enables you to:

  • further develop an understanding of the principles and clinical concepts underpinning practice in general urology and minimal access surgery in urology
  • further develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to perform evidence-based practice and research within the specialist field of general urology and minimal access surgery in urology
  • foster a commitment to lifelong learning and an inquisitive approach to clinical practice in general urology and minimal access surgery in urology that will enable you to acquire skills to practice safely and enhance their practice.

Entry Requirements

Part-time Route Medical degree (MBBS and MRCS or equivalent postgraduate degree) Working within general or urology surgery above F2/SHO/ST3 or equivalent and with an interest in urology

GMC registration

International/overseas applicants must apply through the medical training initiative and have IELTS 7 or above
