Masters Degree Description

Here at ARU we have a track record for innovative midwifery training. If you’re a midwife looking to refine your skills and quickly apply them to your practice our Higher Midwifery Practice MSc is for you.

As a postgraduate student you’ll learn to assess the individual needs of women and how to plan implement and evaluate care that meets the need of mother baby and family alike.

You’ll also recognise and respond to facts that affect the physical emotional and social wellbeing of mothers and babies while developing essential problem solving skills.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should hold an appropriate Midwifery qualification and have at least one year's post-qualification experience of working as a midwife and evidence of appropriate continuing professional development. Applicants will usually have an honours degree or equivalent qualification.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.5 ( Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.

Student Destinations

Completing our MSc Higher Midwifery Practice gives you the potential to move into leadership positions in clinical settings or follow a career in the fields of management research and teaching.

If you choose to learn on campus you’ll also have the option to complete the course with an additional qualification as a Newborn Infant Physical Examination (NIPE) practitioner.

Whichever path interests you most you’ll be equipped with the skills and knowledge to become an innovative forward-thinking practitioner able to effect change in healthcare planning delivery and education.
