This programme will develop a solid understanding of the finance and economic issues involved in environmental economic development and will improve students’ expertise and transferable skills in finance and environmental economics.
It will provide students with a critical understanding of the principal theories and concepts related to finance and environmental economics and detailed knowledge of one or more specialisms related to these subjects.
It will also develop critical awareness of current issues in research and knowledge creation within specialist areas of finance and environmental economics and develop the ability to apply a range of quantitative techniques to different types of data, as well as to evaluate a range of theories appropriate to research in these fields.
Students taking the programme are likely to find jobs in banks, non-governmental organisations and government institutions, in both developed economies and emerging/ developing economies.
A good Honours degree (first or second class), or its non-UK equivalent, in a relevant subject from a recognised British or overseas university.
Work or project experience in the area of finance will be of further advantage.
