Course Description

The Master in Monetary and Financial Economics provides a broad background in economic theory and specialized courses in monetary and financial economics. It is suitable for students who are interested in a career in the financial sector, such as banks, investment companies, etc.

The minimum requirements for admission are:

1. A Bachelor’s degree.
2. Very good command of the English language.

Module Details

The duration of the programme is three semesters, during which the students have to take 9 courses (7 compulsory and 2 electives) and write a Master Thesis. The following table shows the programme’s structure per semester:

First Semester

  • ECO 610 Money, Banking and Financial Economics
  • ECO 661 Microeconomics
  • ECO 662 Macroeconomics
  • ECO 663 Econometrics

Second Semester

  • ECO 606 International Finance
  • ECO 644 Τhe Economics of Firm Financing
  • ECO 680 Applied Financial Econometrics
  • 1 elective course

Third Semester

Initial deadline for applications: 02/04/2021

Applications received by the initial deadline will be evaluated with priority.

The programme will be accepting applications after the deadline, which will be evaluated on a rolling basis for as long as there are still available positions and funding opportunities.
