Course Description

Entry Requirements

Applicants should either have at least a second class honours degree or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. All applications should be supported by a reference. All applicants should satisfy our University English language requirements.
IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification. The University provides excellent support for any applicant who may be required to undertake additional English language courses.

Module Details

Advanced MacroeconomicsCover the core principles of macroeconomic theory, with an emphasis on relevance for economic policy. Enhance your capacity to structure an argument and to make points accurately and consistently.

Gain a firm grounding in advanced modern core principles of microeconomic analysis through rigorous analyses of advanced topics in microeconomics.

Improve your understanding of econometric principles and modern methods, and learn to apply these techniques in the statistical testing of economic theories and models, and forecasting of economic and financial variables.

Learn to apply relevant skills and professional judgement in assessing strategic position, determining strategic choice, and implementing action through business process and structural change.

Gain a comprehensive economic analysis of the operation, efficiency and dependencies between financial markets and their associated institutions. You will also assess the impact upon the world economy of any failure of the financial sector.

You will carry out an in-depth research project in a subject area that is appropriate to the course and of particular interest to you.
