MSc Implant Dentistry

  • DeadlineStudy Details:

    MSc 3 years part-time

Course Description

Modern implant dentistry is constantly evolving and presents challenges that require new skills. Our MSc programme provides the skills for dental implant case selection and planning, and to place and restore straightforward implant cases.

You will learn to assess, plan, and execute both the surgical and restorative aspects of dental implant treatment in straightforward cases. You will be able to identify low and high-risk dental implant cases, to formulate and prescribe an appropriate implant maintenance plan in relation to patient risk profile, and to recognise and manage complications in dental implantology.

The three-year MSc gives you an opportunity to progress based on your individual needs and interests. The programme offers online teaching combined with residential sessions of face-to-face teaching in London.

Who this course is for

The programme is ideal for Dental Practitioners wishing to develop their practice in Implant Dentistry to improve job satisfaction and to be able to offer patients a higher level of implant care.

This programme is open to UK students and ideally suited for dentists with little or no experience in Implant dentistry. Overseas students can apply to study the PG Certificate.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must possess an approved undergraduate dental qualification (i.e. BDS, or equivalent from a recognised institution) and have a minimum of one year clinical experience post-qualification. This programme will be open to GDC registered dentists due to the clinical nature of treating patients in the UK. Applicants must have full and current registration with the UK General Dental Council and be in dental practice with access to patients for the duration of the programme.
