PG Cert Sport Business

  • DeadlineStudy Details:

PGCert 1 year full time, part time

Course Description

This is an exciting new course providing a powerful personal development opportunity for those who are working or intending to work in this dynamic and highly visible area of the UK and wider international economy. It has been developed in response to changing opportunities, risks and challenges for sports business, in an increasingly complex and changing environment.

The course has been designed so that students are introduced to the key principles and processes of sports business management, with the opportunity to customise their programme to individual needs and career aspirations. This new qualification is ideal if you’re a graduate seeking to enhance employability and career progression. It will also be extremely beneficial for those with related industrial experience who are seeking a career change, a broader management role or progress to a more senior level. It will also appeal to those wishing to develop their own sports business or to progress to further study, research or teaching similar areas within further or higher education.

The University has outstanding sports facilities at both the Headingley Campus and the world famous Headingley Carnegie Stadium, which is an international base for professional cricket, rugby league and rugby union teams. The University enjoys fruitful partnerships with this famous sports arena, providing outstanding opportunities for our students.

The PG Certificate serves as the first 60 credits of the MA in Sport Business. Students would not normally enrol for this course, instead enrolling for the full MA. If during your studies for some reason you were unable to complete the full 180 credits to be awarded the MA either a PG Certificate or a PG Diploma would be awarded depending on how much of the course you had successfully completed.

Entry Requirements

Requirements: Applicants should either have a second class honours degree or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment.
